EXAMINATIONS

In the past there was considerable leniency in the matter of examinations: at times they were reduced to a mere formality, sometimes even dispensed with. The degree was awarded by the chancellor on the advice of the regent (those who taught) masters of the faculty as to the candidate's fitness. In the case of theology, which always ranked first in the various doctorates, there followed the pronouncement: "Incipiatis in nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti, Amen."

Credit will be given for certificates from a recognised college or university in any of the required subjects.

The Grading System used to providing a proper evaluation of the quality of work is an important part of the assessment process.
